We round out our Alameda Heritage series with a tip of a hat (or in this case, baseball cap!) to the 1939 California State Champs, The Ben's Tavern Golden Glows. Alameda's Golden Glows were recognized as one of the strongest semi-pro baseball teams in Northern California in the late 1930's. Ben’s Tavern was owned by Ben Carimanti and located at 1600 Webster St. in Alameda.
