San Francisco Base Ball 1860
This tee pays tribute to the first recorded club baseball game played in San Francisco on February 22, 1860 at Center’s Bridge (near 16th and Harrison) between the San Francisco Eagles and the San Francisco Red Rovers. After nine innings, the Red Rovers accused the Eagles of unfair pitching and refused to finish. The game's umpire, Matt McCloskey, awarded the win to the Eagles due to forfeit.
